Teeth whitening from our Farnham based dental practice is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures as it is able to provide an instant boost to smiles and improve confidence.

Teeth lose their natural whiteness due to ageing and the protective enamel becoming less porous. Drinking coffee, red wine, tea and other strongly coloured drinks, in addition to smoking, can result in discolouration. When teeth lose their natural whiteness, the enamel loses its brilliance and the smile appears less radiant and healthy.

Whitening treatments are able to restore the smile’s healthy glow in a short space of time.

Types of whitening treatment

Whitening treatments are available over-the-counter but the most effective safe systems are only available from your dentist. There are two types of whitening treatment; in-chair treatments and professional whitening.  Time Dental recommends the professional tooth whitening system.

In-chair tooth whitening

In-chair treatment involves applying hydrogen peroxide onto the surfaces of the teeth, which breaks the staining bonds and makes the teeth whiter and brighter. This procedure is very quick and you can lighten your teeth by a few shades in less than an hour.

Professional tooth whitening

Professional tooth whitening involves the use of custom-made whitening trays which are filled with Hydrogen peroxide whitening gel. The trays are worn for a minimum of 40 minutes a day. Professional whitening takes between 10 – 14 days, but if there is heavy staining treatment may take longer.

Tooth whitening is a very safe, simple and effective procedure. You may only experience temporary sensitivity, which will nevertheless wear off after 24 hours.

Tooth whitening at Time Dental is the ideal treatment to give your smile a new lease of life, eliminating stains and creating a healthy look.

We provide the tooth whitening service for patients in Farnham and the surrounding areas of Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex and Berkshire.  Patients from areas such as Fleet, Farnborough, Guildford and Godalming have benefited from this treatment.
