Veneers are individually handcrafted bespoke ceramic restorations that are bonded to teeth. They allow us to improve aesthetics, form and function of your teeth and smile. They last for 10 -15 years and do not discolour over time. Veneers can help to improve rotated, misshapen, discoloured or broken teeth. Whether you want a subtle improvement of your smile or you want to make more of an impact, discuss your options with your dentist.
If you are looking to improve your smile whether it’s a single tooth or a smile makeover, porcelain veneers maybe your answer. Veneers are thin laminate porcelain facings which are bonded onto the teeth. Once the porcelain veneers are bonded onto the teeth they are extremely strong in place.
The inital steps for creating your new smile with porcelain veneers involve taking impressions of your teeth by you cosmetic dentist which are sent to the laboratory to provide a 3d wax model of how your veneers would look. Once you are completely happy with your 3D model the preparation visit for your veneers will be scheduled.
On the preparation visit for your smile makeover the teeth are first anaesthetised for your complete comfort. The teeth are then prepared and recontoured by your cosmetic dentist. Impressions are then taken of the prepared teeth and provisional veneers are fitted. These provisional veneers are your trial smile and allow you to give feedback to your cosmetic dentist to ensure you are happy with the shape of provisional veneers. The impressions of the prepared teeth are then made into stone models. Highly trained master ceramists will then handcraft the individual bespoke porcelain veneers and in different shades, textures and translucency to make the veneers look just like real teeth. Once the porcelain veneers are glazed by the master ceramist, they are sent back to your cosmetic dentist for the fit appointment of your new smile makeover.
At Time Dental we only work with the best dental labs for the highest quality porcelain veneers. Using photographs we discuss the colour, shape and form of the teeth in detail with the ceramist to help create the veneers.
On the fit appointment of your porcelain veneers the teeth are again anaesthetised for maximum comfort. The provisional veneers are removed and the porcelain veneers are bonded onto the teeth with a very strong composite resin. Your smile makeover with porcelain veneers is now complete.
If looked after correctly with regular visits to the dentist and hygienist, your veneers will last you many years. Porcelain veneers look their best for approximately 10-15 years.
Veneers can be used to cover discoloured teeth; repaired broken or chipped teeth; straighten slightly crooked teeth; or even completely transform your smile.
